What Causes Body Aches And Stiffness With Diarrhea And Fever?

My husband is 50, slim & in good health. He has recently been complaining about body stiffness, aches & pains & now has diarrhea & fever. He says the bottoms of his feet hurt enough to make him limp. He gets so stiff he has problems getting out of chairs or bed. If he takes 800 mg of ibuprofen he can function. Should he go see his doctor?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have body aches and stiffness with diarrhea and fever. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like electrolyte imbalance, acute sinusitis, sunburn or viral infection. I would suggest you to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor will take history and order blood test. Doctor may prescribe antiviral drug like acyclovir for at least 5 days along with anti inflammatory and antipyretic medications. Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon if the problem will be related to muscles and bones like spondylosis . For now do proper rest because rest is important in case of viral infection and apply warm compresses on body.
