What Causes Blurred Vision While Suffering From Diabetes And Hypertension?

5:20 AM: I am a diabetic with hypertension and recently unknown to me each time had two mini strokes. The last was last was sometime last weekend resulting in the vision in my left eye being blurred around the outside. In addition to BP and Diabetic meds, I was just prescribed Lipitor and 325 mg Aspirin. My BP this morning was 137/89 and my wrist meter was flashing red. It has not flashed red before, however, I used it once or twice before, and then it was not working properly. I put new batteries in it yesterday. My Dr said I should contact him if my top number is reading over 160 or above. But the red light is a concern. Is there a cause for concern??

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

What medications are you taking for BP and diabetics? No need to worry much take your medications regularly. I suggest you to check your BP manually and report it to your doctor if it is above 150/90 mmHg. Showing up Eye symptoms in diabetic and Hypertensive patients are common on long course duration of the disease. So I advise you to consult an Ophthalmologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
