What Causes Blurred Vision And Hearing Loss While Suffering With Neck Pain?

I visited the ER yesterday for severe head and neck pain. It was causing me to have blurred vision, hearing loss, nausea. I was diagnosed with a strained neck muscle and prescribed muscle relaxers and Vicodin. I was told with the medication and rest the muscle would relax and I d feel better. I am not feeling any different. Should I revisit the ER?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of blurred vision and hearing loss while suffering with neck pain . Well sometimes infection occurs due to reasons like meniere's disease , local or generalized alteration in blood pressure , inner ear infection and it leads to these symptoms. Neck pain can also occur due to cervical spondylosis .It could be due to sensorineural hearing loss. Need not to worry. You should not touch or prick ear with any sharp instrument. You should maintain cleanliness of area. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist again for proper diagnosis. Doctor will examine with otoscope , order CT scan, hearing loss tests and MRI. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for 10 days along with anti inflammatory medications. Doctor may prescribe hearing aid. Doctor may also refer you to orthopedic surgeon for neck pain .
