General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Post cataract surgery edema of cornea is common concern if particularly the cataract was chronic or very hard to break giving extensive tissue edema while breaking it with micro shocks emulsification. Usual course of antibiotic drops with supportive care as steroids and others help to relieve the issue over a period of varying weeks after surgery. In some cases, there may be a permanent irreversible damage as well to the cornea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
