What Causes Blurred Vision And Anorexia While On Gabapentin And Lamotrigine?

My daughter has been prescribed gabapentin and lamotrigine to treat bipolar disorder. During the past three days she has experienced blurred vision, dizziness, unsteadiness, and anorexia. Her PCP instructed her to stop taking gabapentin but to continue to taking her lamotrigine. Is it possible that her symptoms are being caused by her lamotrigine, instead of the gabapentin?

Hello,

Gabapentin can cause blurred vision and dizziness side-effects in some patients so most probably her symptoms were due to that and she should be fine with lamotrigine.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
