What Causes Blurred Vision After Sneezing?

Yesterday I was driving and had a sneezing fit (not unusual for me) and suddenly after a large sneeze I could not see. I was not blind but rather had a vision like looking through a kaliadscope. I felt light headed and very disoriented. I was able to slow down and move the care into a parking lot. I sat there for a few minutes with no symptoms except the vision problem. I did not try to get out of the car so I don t know if I would have been steady or not. No symptoms since.

Hello,

The retina can be jostled by the strong force of sneezing. Another set of visual phenomena that can be mistaken for flashes are floaters, caused by disturbances in the gel inside the eye.

So if you're otherwise healthy and don't have problems with migraine headaches, seeing flashes and floaters shouldn't worry you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
