What Causes Blue Lips, Chills Across Chest And Heavy Breathing?

My father is having very strange symptoms... about 6-8 times per day he has a spell that last approximately 15 seconds. He breathes heavily, his lips turn blue, he makes loud noises, he gets chills across his chest area, his eyes bug out and he gets a very fearful look on his face, He is able to talk throughout the episode. He si 80 and otherwise in good health.

The symptoms of your father can be related to a:
-Cardiac issue
- Pulmonary issue which can cause respiratory insufficiency.

I recommend to go at he emergency room as soon as possible for further evaluation.
