Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My fiancé is passing two, 2 cm kidney stones that are 1cm away from his urethra. He just went to the bathroom and came back and said he had bloody stool. I went to look (gross, I know!) and it was bloody and looked almost like it was tissue or something odd. He has taken one oxycodone about 2 hours ago. Any suggestions? Thank you so much!
Hi. Thanks for your query. Note the history about your fiance having 2 cm kidney stone and that are 1 cm way from urethra. He just came back from bathroom and said has blood stool, which you saw in the pan and was all blood as well as tissue like stools. He has used Oxycodone 2 hours ago. I think this may be from the urine or stool. I would advise him the following: Take the sample of urine to see whether the blood was from urinary tract or gastrointestinal tract. This will give an idea about the source of blood. Also take a stool sample next time you pass stool next time. Also needed are other tests like ultrasonography of the abdomen. X-ray of the abdomen. Per-rectal digital examination and proctoscopy to start with followed by colonoscopy and other tests as may be advised by your Specialist to get the proper diagnosis and a plan for management.
