What Causes Blood-tinged Sputum After Using Foracort Inhaler?
Hi!doc, i have asthma for a long time and just last week ,i got sick so high.i am living in beirut and .The city administration decided to burn a milion ton of rubbish in the city street.the cough was with blood.and my doctor prescribe me Foracort-160.has it a side effect ?
Foracort Inhaler contains a combination of Budesonide, a corticosteroid and anti-inflammatory, and Formoterol, a long-acting bronchodilator that is used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to control symptoms and improve lung function.
Its common side effects include a sore throat or tongue, which may be due to candida infection (thrush), hoarseness or throat irritation, headache, increased heartbeats, tremor, palpitations and hypokalaemia (low blood potassium).
The cough with sputum could be due to some occupational hazard resulting from the burning of rubbish in your city.
I advise you to use face mask and consult your treating physician for further evaluation and to rule out any other cause of blood in the sputum like tuberculosis or cancer.
Hope these answer your queries.
