What Causes Blood In Vomit After Having Drunk Lot Of Alcohol?
Hi last night I drank a lot and this morning had to throw up after feeling nauseous. I didn t have anything in my stomach except water I drank today so after that came up when I threw up, a bit of blood came up as well. Naturally I was worried can you tell me if you think it s from an irritated esophagus or rather an underlying source. Background: quit smoking tobacco two weeks ago but have been drinking a lot
Cannot say wtihout a direct exam.whichis why most people in this context who come to the ER are admitted (very briefly). some possibilities: very mild irriation somehwere and a little irritation/bleeding that you cannot even see anymore (common), a mild tear of the esophagus with vomiting that is healed and hardly visible by the time you look (common). Ulcer.. and there is a HUGE amount of bleeding but goingdown the intestines where you cannot see most of it (less commonbutstill common), varicose veins in the esophagus from liver disease and a potentially FATAL big BLEED is occuring (uncommon). other possibilities unlikely like tumor.
