What Causes Blood In Urine?

HELLO, My 3 yr old daughter has had a uti for a couple of days and she has been on suprax. She had only one uti and that was a week or two ago. Today she pee'd and there was blood in her urine that dripped after she pee'd. She has been screaming and crying since wed and the drs have just told me to keep her on her meds and give her tylenol and motrin. Today they said to take her to the er because it may be more. What could it be?

Hi
Greetings
Welcome to HCM

Presence of gross hematuria in a known case of urinary tract infection is likely to be due to severe hemorrhagic cystitis, possibility of calculi also needs to be considered.
I would suggest to get urine examination and ultrasound in consultation with Pediatrician.

Take Care
Best Regards
