What Causes Blood In Urine?

Hello Doctor, I am a 57 year old male. I noticed a few droplets of blood on my toilet seat earlier this evening after urinating. 2 hours later I couldn t see any droplets, but my urine was darker than normal. I finished urinating recently and gripped myself firmly; at that time I did notice more droplets as well as several bloodstains on my underwear. How soon should I wait to see my doctor? As this is a holiday weekend, should I instead go to an emergency room?

Hi
This isn't an outright emergency but you need to see your doctor as soon as possible for an evaluation.

This could be from a prostate infection but it also could indicate either bladder or kidney cancer
