What Causes Blood In Urine?

Hi I am a amateur triathlete and I recently have a bit of blood in my urine. I workout for a half hour and run for an hour each day on the weekends. It goes away the next day, I think I may be dehydrated. I talked to my physician and we re keeping an eye on it. What do you think is happening, and is this cause for concern. Thankyou

Hi..Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Sometimes heavy exercise may cause some bleeding in urine. This is happening to you i think. You should do proper warm up & slowly increase your running & exercise schedule. Drink ample amount of water, as dehydration may also be a factor.
There may be other disease related causes of Blood in urine. Most common of this is Urinary tract infection. It can cause burning sensation, frequent urination also. Other problems like urinary stones, prostrate problem can also cause blood in urine.

If problem persist or reoccurs, visit a Urologist
Hope this information helps
