What Causes Blood In Urine?

Me and my boyfriend had sex on Sunday and the condom broke. On Monday I took plan b and everything seemed fine. Today is Wednesday I noticed some bleeding when I went to the bathroom when I woke up and assumed my period came a week early so I put a tampon in . My vaginal area felt very uncomfortable so I took the tampon out and noticed there was no blood just discharge but when I peed there was blood. I thought nothing of it until I went pee again and there were blood clots. I find myself having to pee very often and there is always blood in it. Could this be a result of the plan b? Or maybe a urinary infection?

Hello,

It might be a urinary infection, however, I recommend you to do an ultrasound of the bladder and an urinalysis test. Please discuss with your doctor for this.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jolanda Nikolla, Pulmonologist
