What Causes Blood In The Stool?

I have alot of blood in my stool. I recently missed my period. I'm not sure if that is linked or not. I still haven't had it and it's been over a month now. Anyway, I have no pain and my stool is completely normal. Aside from the large amount of dark red blood in my stool.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Noted that you have missed periods and have dark red blood in stool without any pain.
The cause can be :
Hemorrhoids also called as piles. These are engorged veins at the anal canal which get enlarge to the extent and get ruptured or abraded to cause bleeding without pain. The pain can come only if there is thrombosis and prolapsed with strangulation.
Another cause can be polyp, cancer, anal fissure but comes with pain at passing stool.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Get an examination by a General Surgeon for per-rectal digital examination and ano-proctoscopy.
Colonoscopy is also needed to rule out anything in the proximal part of colon that can cause painless bleeding.
Once diagnosed get operated and get medical treatment.
Also consult your Gynecologist for missed periods and get an ultrasound done and get treated accordingly.
Also go for Sitz bath.
Laxatives if constipation once the pregnancy or any Gyne problem is ruled out.
