Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello,Ive been noticing for the past 2 days a bit of blood with my stool. The stool itself has not changed color, but there has been a gross mucus discharge of it with blood. Today after going to the bathroom, it was worse and there was alot when I wiped. There is no pain or itching. What can it be and what caused this?
There are many causes to blood in stool including: - hemorrhoids, especially if you have been suffering of constipation recently - bowel infection
I advise to: - avoid constipation - if hemorrhoids are present (you can touch with your fingers), then, should apply local hemorrhoids ointment - if no hemorrhoids, further consultation with proctologist is needed to exclude anal and colon damages - colonoscopy/anoscopy is also recommended
Wish fast recovery! Dr.Albana
