What Causes Blood In Stool?

I have had some episodes of bloody stool before lasting a day but now it's been over a week and it does not matter if my stool is formed or a little loose. In the last day I have become very fatigued and unbalanced. I've had dizzy spells and feeling like rooms becoming dark and smaller. I've been avoiding NSAIDs, caffeine, spicy foods and alcohol.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
You have Bleeding from the anus, rectal bleeding, Which is a very common symptom. Up to 15% of adults have seen blood on their toilet paper.
As a general rule, bright red blood means that the bleeding has come from the area around the anus. If the blood is darker, it usually means that its origin is a bleed higher up the digestive tract.
Bleeding can be due to following reasons
1. Hemorrhoids( piles) is most common reason. They are swollen blood vessels in the rectum or anus.
2.Anal fissures- a tear in intestine sometimes caused due to hard stool passage
3.Infection of intestines
4.Rarely it might be colon cancer

Most common cause of haemrrhoids & anal fissure is constipation. Therefore laxatives should be used. Fibers in diet should also be increased.

If problem persists, you should visit a Gastroenterologist. Colonoscopy should be done to ruleout possibility of colon cancer.

Don't worry you would be fine
Hoping your query is solved.
