What Causes Blood In Stool When Diagnosed With IBS?
Hi doctor im suffering from irritable bowl syndrom. i have gone though endoscopy and colonscopy. The reports are normal and the doc said you have weak stomach and digestive system. I was getting loose motions around 3 to 4 everyday and burning at anus. He suggested me ibset, sibofix, somaspas and vsl 3. i have been taking somaspas and vsl since 2 months. now recently he added ibset and sibofix. Presently im getting blood in my stool. slightly after the stool few drops. iam worried about the current situation and requesting you to tell me what i should do further. Thanks.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome needs further tests of stool, blood, CT scan also to have all them negative. Burning anal area after passing stool 3-4 times a day may indicate intestinal infection. This can be diagnosed by stool test. If needed request your Doctor to start another antibiotic. Add on Probiotics, have yogurts/curds, banana, activated charcoal tablets and continue on Ibset, Sibofix, Somaspas and CSL 3. Get per-rectal and proctoscopy test to see for the cause of blood in stool or after stool. Watch for the foods and beverages that increase or instigate the abdominal problems and stop them altogether.
