What Causes Blood In Stool Of A Toddler?

My 3 year old has recently started to have blood present after pooping. It went away for a couple days then came back. The dr told me to put some cream on it and give him food high in fiber. He has a good diet and isn t constipated. What could it be.

Hi,

It can be from gastrointestinal infection leading to inflammation of GIT. There is no need to worry. Feed him syrup of ofloxacin-Ornidazole.

He will relieve in a few days. However, if bleeding continues then take him to the emergency room for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. SOHEEL HUSSAIN ZARGAR,
