What Causes Blood In Stool In A Breast Cancer Survivor?

I am a 4 year breast cancer survivor & the last couple of bowel movements I have had a lot of blood in stool. No pain. Bright red blood. I was just recently notified by oncologist that my blood lab work showed elevated levels at tumor marker & a repeat blood test is necessary. Is the bleeding in stool related?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi & Welcome.
The elevated levels of tumor marker and the symptoms given in your history are suggestive of involvement of colon by the metastatic breast cancer cells.
Hence, you are advised to consult your treating oncologist for further evaluation which may need colonoscopy.
Wishing you best of your health.
