What Causes Blood Filled Blisters?

Hello I have this weird bubble like blister which has been around for a 2 weeks. I ve recently played around with it to see if it would go away. But recently I tried to burst it only for blood to be released within the blister and then I tried to burst it again with all the blood inside pouring out after. What is this and how can I get rid of it ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Blood blisters are fairly common and are generally caused by injury without the skin breaking or by friction. The best treatment for a blood blister is to let it heal on its own over a few weeks.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
