What Causes Blood Filled Blister On Tongue?

Hello, doctor, I bit the side of my tongue last month and a few weeks after blood blister appeared then every time I had to brush my teeth it bled and got drained and every morning my spit had brownish color probably due to the blood and today the lump has grown bigger. Should I consult a doctor now? Or should I just let it be?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

A per your complain blood blister after trauma is not a serious condition and mostly it resolves by itself without leaving a scar..

It is caused due to rupture of blood vessels in the area where trauma has happened and the spilling of blood leads to formation of a small blood filled lump..

It mostly resolves without any treatment but if it is recurring again and again you should not leave it as it is and should consult an Oral pathologist who can do a clinical evaluation and rule out the cause of it that whether it is only as a result of trauma or any other medical condition like any blood disorders etc..

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
