What Causes Blood Discharge During Bowel Movement?

I have had blood on my toiler paper after a bowel movement. Bright red, for about 3 weeks. It did not seem to be on the stool until recently. I have tried 10 days of preparation H it seemed to stop for a day or two and now is back. Could it be fissures? I do not have itching or pain. What else should I try?

Hi I did review your concern.
Red blood on toilet paper can be due to either hemorrhoids, rectal fissure or rectal ulcer.
I would recommend you to consult a doctor(surgeon) and get yourself examined to know more about the bleeding in detail.

Meanwhile you can take sodium picosulfate 1 tablet before bed as a stool softner and add more green leafy veggies to your diet to increase fiber content of your stool and avoid straining.
hot sitz bath also helps in fissure as does local anesthetic gel, but it should be used after doctor consultation.

I hope this helps.
Wish you all the best.
