I have what looks like a blood blister on my big toe. It has been there almost 3 wks. I don t recall ever pinching or have toe stepped upon. Then today, I noticed that my middle toe has a dark blood spot at the back of the nail bed. I have had surgery on this foot last december, got osteomylitis, had an open would until about 2 wks ago.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From Your description I am of the opinion that you should have a microscopy and culture test of blister fluid, it may be bacterial infection most probably streptococcus. Moreover have your checkup done for CBC, ESR, and specifically platelets. You can revert back to me with the reports.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
