What Causes Blood Around The Ileostomy And The Mucus Fistula?
My wife is 41 yrs old and was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer 2 years ago. She has started vaginal bleeding in the past week. She is currently on Avastin and it has been great for her. She has 4' of small intestines left with an ileostomy and a mucus fistula. There has been blood around the ileostomy and the mucus fistula is producing a bbq like substance. We love our oncologist and want to know what is going on and options from here.

Hello dear.That is difficult situation.Sommtimes one os Avastin side effects is bleeding,or when you are bleending the situation maybe be worse.But your oncologist how know better the situation will give you the right advises.Best wishes
