What Causes Blockages In Arteries Even With Healthy Lifestyle?

I am eating a almost fat free diet according to Dr. Ornish, exercise a lot, do not drink, do not smoke, yet can not reduce building of blockages....I have 4 stents in my arteries and am about to get 4 more next week. They wanted to perform by pass surgery, but I could mske my cardiologist change his mind...so, why after all this do my arteries still fill up...?

Hi,
I would need more details about your case to satisfactorily answer your question.
1. What is your age and sex?
2. What was the problem to begin with and how long back did it start?
3. Do other people in your family have similar problems like your parents or brothers?
4. Is your weight near the ideal weight for your height and age?
It could be possible that you could be having Metabolic syndrome which predisposes to Atherosclerosis and plaques in the arteries. Is your Lipid profile normal?
Secondly, putting four stents and then another four is usually not undertaken and bypass is usually preferable but it would be incorrect to advice until I see all your reports.
Do let us know how I can help you better.
You can contact me directly by leaving a query on my profile page at this link - http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-rishi/68037.
