What Causes Blisters On The Legs In A Person With End-stage Liver Disease?

In 2008 I was diagnosed with end-stage liver disease. I was hospitalized for 6 months and was discharged with a fully functioning liver. I have recently had an onset of blisters that are constantly draining along with burning in both of my legs from the knee down. Could this be cirrhosis again?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It might be recurrent pyoderma due to bacterial infection. When you have end stage liver disease the immunity power of your body will be reduced drastically, there might be increased chances for infection, especially bacterial infection, as this case. You can take antibiotics, like Moxclav and apply topical antibiotic ointments, like Mupirocin, for symptomatic relief.

Wishing you good health.

Thanks.
