What Causes Blisters On Hands In A Patient With Diabetes?

My husband has been getting blisters on his hands. His physician said is from his diabetes. I do not feel comfort able with this answer. I am a diabetic and worked in the medical field for 15 yrs. I have never seen any of my diabetic patients with hand blisters.

Hello,

Diabetic people are always at a risk of infection. Blisters on hand is also a type of skin infection.

I will suggest your husband to wash hands with good antiseptic solution regularly and apply soframycine cream when blisters appears on hand.

Check blood sugar regularly and continue antidiabetic medications. Take meal at fix time in a day so that blood sugar will be at normal range.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Pramod Kokare
