What Causes Blisters Near Damaged Disc?

I have been treated for a ruptured disc in the past. Periodically, after particular strenious activity or a stressful situation, I will have a breakout in an area just below the damaged disc that looks like a fever blister. About as big as a quarter. Could this be a form of shingles??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to a shingles blister. I suggest using an antiviral cream for local application such as Acyclovir cream. I also suggest to use Acyclovir 400 tablets.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
