What Causes Bleeding From The Gums Around The Upper Teeth?
Hi, my gums started bleeding without me brushing or doing anything. I was at work and hadn't eaten anything, nor chewed on anything that would have caused my gums to bleed. I was walking to the restroom and suddenly I felt blood in my mouth and when I checked in the mirror my tongue was covered in blood and it was coming from the gums on the side of my upper teeth. What would cause this occurrence?
As per your complain bleeding from gums from upper teeth can be most commonly due to deep infection in guns causing Gingivitis and in case if the infection has invaded underlying structures like bone then it can be Periodontitis..
The inflamed tissues tend to bleed even on slightest stimulation, therefore it can be a cause for gum bleeding..
Other causes can be traumatic injury to the gums, tooth or gum abscess while taking blood thinners and clotting disorders can also be a cause..
So first consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
In case if gum infection is the cause then deep scaling and Curettage followed by antibiotics and painkillers will help..
In case of there is no apparent infection then other causes will be looked for as I described below and will be treated accordingly..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
