why would there be red blood in the toilet and I did not have a bm? I do have ulcerative colitis COPD Ste osis of back bipolar nodules on vocal cords and recently had quadruple by pass surgery then in hospital. with epiglottitis, then on Aug 1 had severe dehydration and bronchial infection

This could be due to hemorrhoids. Blood in stool can also occur with ulcerative colitis. It may be as simple as a rectal exam to see if you have hemorrhoids, and then treating those. It may be a good idea for you to pay a visit to your doctor.
