What Causes Bleeding From Ears After Wisdom Tooth Extraction?

Hi, I was laying down with earplugs in relaxing after taking medication for a wisdom tooth extraction trying to sleep. My ear started ringing internally louder and louder progressively and became quite bothersome so I removed the earplugs & found blood on it. Sticking my pinky finger in my ear slightly resulted in some more blood on the end of my finger. The ringing has lessened & no extra bleeding so far, but my ear feels, off. Or like my hearing is slightly diminished in this ear. What should I do? Go to the ENT/ER?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..

As per your complain bleeding from your ear with ringing and diminished hearing seems to be most probably due to causes like ear infection or traumatic injury inside the ear..
It does not seems to be due to wisdom tooth extraction and is probably due to Ear disorder..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like x-ray and MRI S can can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
You can be given a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, antibiotics ear drops and decongestant nasal spray..
Avoid wearing ear plugs, avoid exposure to loud sounds and also avoid excessive water exposure like swimming..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
