What Causes Bleeding Form Ear While Sleeping After Cleaning With Bud?

Hi I cleaned my ears using a coton bud yesterday. Then went to bed. Around 1.30am I woke up and had a feeling of water in the ear and then realised it was blood. There is no loss of hearing. I am 52 years old and healthy. I try and avoid taking prescription medication, especially antibiotics preferring naturopathic, homeopathic etc Kind regards, Mark Benjamin

Hi

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum

The most probable cause of ear bleed following usage of ear buds is, damage to the canal skin. Do not worry! Bleeding will stop spontaneously. Avoid using ear buds in future; avoid water into the ear and keep the ear dry. Do not use any ear drops. If the bleeding persists consult your doctor.
