What Causes Bladder Infection ?

I feel as if I have a possible bladder infection (frequency, some abdominal pain, etc.) when I have sex there is a slight fishy oder but have not had any vaginal discharge or discomfort to make me think I have BV. I am married and am actively trying to get pregnant. I have a dr appointment scheduled tomorrow to address these symptoms. I seem to get bladder infections quite often and I consider myself rather clean. Showering once or even twice per day, after sex I always shower and urinate..... Any insight on how to avoid this embarrassing issue? And what it might be the result of?
