What Causes Black Tarred Bowels Post Endoscopy Procedure For Abdominal Irritation?

I had endoscopy today following a perforated ulcer three months ago. They found another ulcer caused by a stitch that did not dissolve and had caused irritation. I ve been home sleeping off the anesthesia. I have had gas....but black tarry bowel followed. Should I be concerned?
