I am a teacher, and we toured our local tech school today. They were doing free ultrasounds on thyroids and black spots were found on both the right and left side of mine. The instructor, who was doing the ultrasounds, said I should probably see a doctor. Is she right?
The prescription that you made is not very correct, but i suppose your doctor intended to say destructive zones in both thyroid lobes.
The most common cause of it, at the females is Hashimoto thyroiditis (an autoimmune disease). As a result the thyroid can not produce enough hormones and you should take it by mouth.
I would recommend you to check the TSH,FT4 and FT3 level and than we can decide to start the treatment or not.
Hope i was helpful. Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
