What Causes Bilateral Sore Spots On The Ribs, With Pain Only On Touching?

For as long as I can remember, I have had sore spots on my ribs. If I put my fingers on the xiphoid process and follow the line of cartilage down, about halfway between my sternum and floating ribs there is a sore spot on each side. This does not hurt at any time unless I touch it. I have been able to wear tight clothing, tight belts, even steel-boned corsets without rib pain, but those two spots are still very sensitive to touch. The only thing I ve been able to find online talks about inflammation of the costal cartilage, but that seems to be much more acute than what I m experiencing.

Hi

This still sounds like costochondritis--inflammatio of the cartilage that connects the ribs to the sternum

Usually a cortisone injection will take care of it
