What Causes Bilateral Pitting Pedal Oedema And Exertional Dyspnoea?
I am nigerian and my 58yr old mother who weighs about 75-80kg, last 2weeks started having bilateral pitting pedal oedema, exertional dyspnoea. Chest xray showed aortic unfolding with optimal heart size however she is not hypertensive. Other investigation results were normal. What could be the problem, its cause and how can she be managed? Thank you.
In my opinion you should consult internal medicine doctor. There are so many cause for exertional dyspnoea and bilateral pitting edeme. 1. Low Hb. 2. Hypoproteinemia 3. Heart failure. 4. Cirrhosis of liver 5. Hypothyroidism 6. Pulmonary hypertension with Cor Pulmonale 7. Renal failure So discuss thing things with your doctor and investigate accordingly.
