What Causes Bad Smelling Burps Along With Vomiting?

My son has a stomach bug. He started having the rotten egg smelling burps, then he threw up this morning. All day, he has not had an appetite. He has stomach pains, and terrible gas that smells terrible (rotten eggs again). Definitely not the usual. Just put him to bed, and he threw up a second time (same smell). His stomach is non-stop gurgling. He first started complaining last night, so we are now past the 24 hour mark. No fever. Suggestions? When should I take him in?
