What Causes Bad Odour Vaginal Discharge?

I am having a strong vaginal odor with minimal clear discharge. I have never had this before but it started right after my period ended. I use tampons so I thought to myself maybe a portion of the tampon came off inside and that it may be causing an odor. I felt around and felt no foreign bodies but there was a flaky dough like sediment on my finger. It is all very strange and I don t know what is going on.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
It appears that you could have contacted infection because of use of tampon or a portion of it that might have remained inside. It would be advisable to get per speculum examination done to look for missing tampon and its removal.
Kindly do the following to overcome the problem.
1. Wash the area with warm water and mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily.
2. Take a course of antibiotic Tablet. Metronidazole.
3. Take antifunfal medication Fluconazole as single dose in the form of pessary.
4. Wear loose fitting undergarments to provide good ventilation in the area.
Gradually, your symptoms should subside and get better.
