What Causes Bad Breath Having Chronic Sinusitis And Deviated Septum?

I have chronic sinusitis and a deviated septum. I sometimes have bad breath from it and I actually have an odor in my nose I can smell. My husband says my breath or breathing on him smells like broccoli. I smell not to be gross but boogies. I do have good oral hygiene. Should I use a netti pot once in a while?

thank you for posting in healthcaremagic.com....

see, chronic sinusitis and deviated nasal septum can be associated with foul smelling breaths and foul smelling crusts in nose....these are quite common symptoms...
for that, first antibiotics with good oral and nasal hygiene maintenance is prescribed...generally if followed well, they tend to give a very good result...
also an XRAY PNS (para nasala sinuses) are also indicated...

if all the reports are satisfactory, this treatment is continued....
if it is not effective for a long time, we tend to go for surgical correction of the septum or even on the later stages an operation for sinusitis...

so i dont know how long you are having this disease or what medications you have used...so tell me about that...

also neti pots are sometimes used in sinusitis....the effect of which is controversial...you can try it but only after seeing an ENT specialist...

hope this was helpful...
get back to me with any further queries...

regards
