Hi. I ve been taking magnesium citrate 600 mg a day. When I take it it helps with aches and pains. When I take it I wake up without a back ache and tender spots on my sides. I am worry about if it is safe to take every day. Can I develope any medical issues if I continue to take it? Thanks for your help. Lori

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is not related to magnesium citrate. As a first line management you can take analgesics like Paracetamol or Aceclofenac for pain relief. If symptoms persists better to consult a physician and get an ultrasound scan done to rule out any possible intra-abdominal causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
