What Causes Arthritis And Carpel Tunnel Syndrome Inspite Of Taking Clonazepam?

Something strange is happening to me: I was put on Xanax, lyrica, Klonopin and another antidepressant about six years ago. Lately, I forgot to take clonazepam for a week. I started suffering from aches and pains. It seemed I had arthritis and carpal tunnel syndrome. The symptoms went away after taking clonazepam, but just for a while. Now they are back. What should I do dosewise? I cannot go to a neurologist right now as I don t have the money.

Hi,

Carpal tunnel syndrome is due to compression of the nerve in your wrist. Clonazepam has nothing to do with that and its proper treatment is only surgery. Regarding arthritis you did not mentioned your age it might be osteoarthritis or rheumatoid for which proper work up is required.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
