What Causes Arm Pain After Undergoing Da Vinci Hysterectomy?

I have pain that shoots down my arm when I extend it like putting on a jacket. I haven t injured the arm, and it seems it started after my davinci hysterectomy. I understand about the gas after surgery, but my surgery was December 30. The issue seems to be worse instead of better.

Hi,

It seems like you're feeling this way because of a nerve irritated or injury during the procedure. You can take following measures:
* Rest and gentle movement
* Pain medication
* Heat or cold therapy
* Physical therapy

Yet, it is crucial to discuss these symptoms with your surgeon for appropriate guidance.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Fahum Akhter, General & Family Physician
