What Causes Appetite Loss After Recovering From An Ear Infection?
One year old boy, not eating or drinking. No wet diaper all day. Has had 2 ear infections and a virus infect, last week (ER dr) on amoxycillan. Had a fever but broke early Monday morning. Been to Walk-in clinic, today and they sent him to ER. PA said mom wasn t trying enought and sent him home. I m great grandma.
With a history of no wet diaper for the day, the PA or doctor should give him a trial of fluids at the office or clinic before sending him home. They need to try to give him fluids to make sure that he does not become more dehydrated. The fact that there are no wet nappies means that there is already a level of dehydration present.
He needs to be re assessed. He should be taken back to the clinic. Dehydration in children is difficult to treat at home sometimes despite a parent trying and trying.
I hope this helps
