What Causes Anxious Feeling And Disturbed Sleep After Reducing The Dosage Of Seroquel?

Been on seroquel since 2003and Zoloft ...dr. Wanted to take me down from 100- 75mg. Then ?? Off ?? Felt very anxious and sleep disturbed ...dr. Put me on hydroxyzine 25 mg for restless legs ??due to seroquel?!never been on a sleep aid yet ...I need to sleep and this cocktail has worked for years. Fibromyalgia, nerve damage and more along with previous manic depression bi-polar, add and a bit ocd. I care for my husband and my 44yr. Old down syndrome brother with many of my same issues,! I need at least 9hours of sleep and wake to coffee and a cigarette and when trying to cut downandquit I have acquired a rubbing motion with my hand to lips !?? Repetitive for sure!! Also my brother is coming off ability which I ve found to be almost a death penalty for him !! So can we talk??

I can understand your concern. The drug Seroquel is an antipsychotic drug and the drug is used in a number of conditions like poor sleep, in mood stabilisation etc. You have developed restless legs also and have been advised to take hydroxyzine for that. Asscoiated fibromyalgia, nerve damage, chronic insomnia are complicating the problem. So to come out of these symptoms first of all you have to visit a psychiatirst for help. With quetiapine you are not getting good sleep so in such case other medicines like Trazodon, Mirtazapine etc can help. These medicines will control the restlessness and will help in good sleep. Apart from this for chronic fibromyalgia symptoms and nerve pains medicines like Pregabalin or Gabapentin can be used. These medicines help to result in good sleep and also help in reducing pain of nerve damage. Please consult a psychiatrist for help.
