What Causes Anxiety While On Reminyl?

My mum is taking Reminyl 8mg per night for her dementia. But, these few days she has been extremely anxious about an event she has to attend. She repeatedly shoots us with the same questions and we , as caregivers has to give the same answers repeatedly, making our days unbearable. My mum was so overwhelmed with I want to know if we can give her clonazepam 0.5mg at night to stop her anxiety and make her more relaxed. she has not been sleeping well for many nights already.Thank you very much. Obsessive-compulsive disorder is typically an anxiety disorder, but when an elderly person suffers from it, the condition could be related to Alzheimer's disease or dementia. As you are mentioning dementia here, the symptoms you are given here are not supposed to be from simple anxiety. As your mum is having dementia, numerous other mental disorder symptoms will be present including those of OCD. The symptoms you provide seems to be anxiety aroused out of OCD. Frontotemporal dementia, vascular dementia. lewy body dementia etc are all dementias with OCD symptoms. I suggest you to consult the psychiatrist / neurologist and work with him for management.
