Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter is 5 years old, and she woke up this morning acting strange and crying to me because her heart was beating very fast and she seemed sort of out of it. She said she felt sick and when she tried to talk it seemed as if she could barely talk without taking a shallow breathe to get the rest of the word out. She also said she felt shaky and thought she was going to fall down . I felt her heart and it seemed normal, and she sat down for 5 mins ate and drank and now she is fine? This is the second time this has happened in the morning? Could she be having some sort of Anxiety attack? Im just worried.
It look like panic attack. In that case, you should consult a child psychiatrist. Panic attack usually happens due to underline conflict and in that case, treatment include either antidepressant or cognitive behavioral therapy. At age of 5, i don't prefer any medicine, so better to consult a psychiatrist for or psychologist for proper management. If you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
