General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

All these symptoms are indicating that there are still problems with the affected areas.
There may be not healed fracture with a compromise of vascularity causing black toenails.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Consult an Orthopedic Surgeon for clinical examination.
MRI with angiography of the affected areas.
These will give an appropriate diagnosis and thus a plan for proper management.
Till then give complete rest to the affected ankle.
Stop smoking if you are doing this.
Take therapeutic dosages of calcium and Vitamin D.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
