What Causes Angioedema On The Lips While On Bystolic?
Taking 10 mg Bystolic for 3 weeks, but BP not controlled. Prescribe Spirolactone, 50 mg yesterday. Any other suggestions for effective control? Was on Lisinpril - HTZ 10-12.5 for years with effective control, then one morning woke up with angiodema of the lips. Has been a nightmare with GP starting with Amlodinine, adding Metaprolol and Hydrochlorthizine with terrible side effects. Referral to cardiologist who prescribed Bystolic and now Spirolactone. Thanks
We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, you can increase Bystolic to twice daily and continue spironolactone and if unavoidable, nefidipine may be added.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
